All over the world, there are various careers that can earn you a living. One of them is the lucrative business of working as a fashion merchant.

Just like the fashion designers, the fashion merchants are the various dealers in the fashion industry who market the various fashion products. Some designers are also fashion merchants especially those of them who invented particular fashion products and built companies on it. For instance, the designer shoe world has great shoe manufacturers who also have companies where the shoes are being sold. Louis Vuitton is a typical example. This man invented a particular brand of shoe also know as Louis Vuitton and established the Louis Vuitton Company where the shoes are sold. Hence, it is very possible to be a designer and a fashion merchant at the same time.

On other hand, there are many people who are only fashion merchants. They have nothing to do with the production process. Their duty is simply to market existing fashion products. These calibers of people abound in most shops of the world. In Africa and Asia, many people see fashion merchandising as the shorter way to quick riches. This makes a good number to drop out from tertiary institutions in search for money.

However, the fashion industry thrives as a result of the activities of these merchant. There are basically two groups here: the Wholesalers and the Retailers. The wholesale fashion merchants usually invest more cash in the business and deal on wider horizon while the Retailers deal on meager resources. Whichever is the case; both categories drive the fashion industry to the greatest heights.

In all the fashion industry cannot do without the merchants while the merchants need fashion products to survive and eke out a nice living.
